MSK ULTRASOUND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
UMI's MSK Ultrasound Professional Certificate program provides an exciting opportunity for a wide variety of medical professionals to join the world of musculoskeletal ultrasound.
This program offers an opportunity for working healthcare professionals and physicians to extend their skill in the examination, management, and diagnostic of musculoskeletal systems using ultrasound imaging.
The intended program participants include (but not limited to): Physicians, Doctors of Chiropractic, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctors of Podiatric Medicine; Physician Assistants; Nurse Practitioners; Physical Therapists; Athletic Trainers; Sonographers and other imaging professionals.
The certificate is a work-based learning module, predominantly real-time distance learning, with a residential in-person scanning skill practicum.
The program consists of 76 clock hours for a total of 10 weeks. The program is offered via Zoom live video conference with a one two-day-weekend residential practicum.

In 2014, Prof. Perez-Agosto became only the second person in Puerto Rico and one of only six hundred professionals worldwide to obtain RMSK (Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer) credentials with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Prof. Perez also holds her ARDMS credentials in RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonogrpher) and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) in addition to her MBA and a BS in Cardiovascular Medical Sonography.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
10 weeks
64 instructional hours of didactic lectures and coursework. 12 hours of laboratory practicum.
