OUR MISSION
The mission of United Medical Institute (UMI) is to equip students with the essential skills required to excel in diverse roles within the dynamic healthcare sector. UMI empowers both aspiring and established professionals in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and other healthcare fields to navigate technological advancements, foster leadership capabilities, and drive entrepreneurial innovation through practical application and high-quality distance education.
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2006, United Medical Institute (UMI) has maintained its commitment to excellence in medical education. Since 2009, our Diagnostic Medical Sonography program has stood as the cornerstone of UMI's academic offerings, providing students with a robust foundation in medical imaging. In 2018, Dr. Inna Lisker assumed the position of President and CEO, bringing extensive academic credentials and decades of leadership and higher education experience to UMI. Dr. Lisker is dedicated to maintaining an educational environment that empowers students to achieve their academic and career goals.
In the subsequent years, UMI has reached significant milestones. In 2023, UMI achieved initial institutional accreditation from The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), expanded programs from California to Arizona, and secured approval for the Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) degree programs. These accomplishments underscore UMI's ongoing commitment to providing quality education and expanding opportunities for our students.
